This natural dyeing starting kit is targeted at either dyers whose starting out and want to sample different kind of dyes or dyers who would like to sample the shops dyes quality. This kit contains 10g weight of 10 different main dyes. In addition to mordants and additives to the kit, its 100g as follows : 50g Alum, 30g Soda Ash and 20g Iron.
The Dyes that are included are : Madder, Cutch extract, Marigold, Pomegranate, Himalayan Rhubarb, Sappanwood, Walnut and Quebracho,gallnut and myrobalan.
Alkanet ( Onosma Hispidum ) is very versatile and has a stunning range of colors. It gives Crimson to purple, Wine and Mauve and from soft pink to hints to blue, according to what WOF and mordants and additives used. Alkanet is not soluble in water so it needs to be soaked in alcohol for several dyes to extract its color and then water should be added.
